Biblical Greek 1

Part 1 of a 3-Part course. Fall classes begin the week of September 8, 2025.

There are no prerequisites for this class, other than a desire and commitment to do the work.

We will start with the Greek alphabet, accents, and move on to vocabulary and translation of increasingly complex phrases and sentences, primarily Greek into English. Weekly live classes, video lessons, and homework assignments are designed to build competency is the core skills necessary for reading and understanding the Bible (New Testament) in Greek. Video recordings of classes are made accessible for those who missed the live meeting or who want to review. Students will be encouraged at every step of the journey, and will enjoy the fruits of their labors when they recognize their own growth.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • translate basic Greek sentences into English

  • evaluate existing English translations based upon the original text

  • think more deeply about the meaning of passages of Scripture

  • share truths from God’s Word with greater clarity and confidence
